college?
-
For Premed
Physics:
•
Does
the summer last at least
5 weeks
(6 is preferred)?
•
Are
the course hours equivalent to a Barnard Semester
(at least
35 hours
of lecture, plus a lab)?
•
Is this a
correct
course
for premeds ("Physics for Poets" is not)?
-
For
Physics Majors:
•
Does
the summer semester last at least
6 weeks?
•
Is
the course
calculus based?
•
Does
the course have at least 35 hours
of lecture and 30 hours
of lab?
-
For the
Barnard Science Requirement:
•
Does
the summer semester last at least
6 weeks?
•
Does
the course have at least
35 hours
of lecture and
36 hours
of lab? If not, you may have to take the lab course at Barnard
during the school year.
-
Have
you checked that the course content is appropriate? will it fit in
with a second term taken somewhere else? (NOTE: A one-semester introductory Astronomy course, e.g. "Overview of the
Universe" will
NOT
easily fit with our two-semester sequence).
-
For
ALL
of the above, do you have documentation (program descriptions with
dates and class hours, course descriptions)? Please have it ready
with the Barnard Summer School form to show us.
